Infinix Launches GT 20 Pro Gaming Smartphone in India

 

New Delhi, May 21, 2024 – Infinix, a subsidiary of the Transsion Group, launched its latest gaming-centric smartphone, the Infinix GT 20 Pro, in India today. This follows its initial release in Saudi Arabia last month. The smartphone, designed to cater to gaming enthusiasts, is available in three color variants—Mecha Blue, Mecha Orange, and Mecha Silver—and boasts a striking cyber mecha design.



Pricing and Availability


The Infinix GT 20 Pro is competitively priced at Rs. 22,999 for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, inclusive of bank offers. The higher-end model, featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, is priced at Rs. 24,999. The phone will be available for purchase on Flipkart starting May 28.


Specifications and Features


Running on the latest Android 14-based XOS 14, the Infinix GT 20 Pro sports a 6.78-inch full-HD+ LTPS AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080x2,436 pixels. The display supports a variable refresh rate of 60Hz, 120Hz, and 144Hz, and covers the DCI-P3 color gamut. It also features a touch sampling rate of up to 360Hz and a PWM frequency of 2304Hz, providing peak brightness up to 1,300 nits.


The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate SoC and comes with either 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. For enhanced gaming performance, it includes the Pixelworks X5 Turbo chip, which, coupled with the X boost gaming mode, claims to deliver up to 90fps in most games.


Camera and Design


The GT 20 Pro is equipped with a triple rear camera system led by a 108-megapixel Samsung HM6 sensor with optical image stabilization, accompanied by two 2-megapixel sensors. For selfies and video calls, a 32-megapixel front camera is provided. The phone's mecha design is accentuated by an RGB mini-LED array and a distinctive C-shaped ring on the back, offering eight color combinations and four lighting effects.


Storage and Connectivity


With 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, the Infinix GT 20 Pro ensures ample space for apps and media. Connectivity options include NFC, FM radio, GPS, a USB Type-C port, OTG, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi 802.11. The device also incorporates several sensors, including a light sensor, e-compass, G-sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor, along with an in-display fingerprint sensor and an X-axis linear motor for haptic feedback. Dual speakers, tuned by JBL, enhance the audio experience.


Battery and Build


The smartphone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging. It measures 164.26 x 75.43 x 8.15mm and weighs 194 grams, making it a substantial yet manageable device for daily use.
