Indian Auto giant Inaugurates High-Tech Manufacturing Plant in Brazil, Boosts Global Presence Leading two-wheeler and three-wheeler

Leading two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturer, Bajaj Auto, has unveiled a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Manaus, Brazil. The grand opening, held yesterday, saw the presence of the Governor of the Amazon state, alongside other dignitaries, dealers, and business partners. This strategic move marks a significant milestone as the Indian automotive giant now extends its footprint to 100 countries worldwide.

Spanning 9,600 square meters, the Manaus plant boasts a production capacity of 20,000 units annually on a single-shift basis. Equipped with advanced engine assembly, vehicle assembly, and testing facilities, the plant represents a new era of manufacturing excellence for Bajaj Auto.

In his inaugural address, the Governor praised Bajaj Auto's commitment to local economic growth and job creation. “This facility is a testament to the strong industrial capabilities of our region and our potential as a manufacturing hub,” he said.

The Manaus plant is designed with automated production lines and integrated quality control systems, ensuring high standards in every unit produced. Multiple conveyor and transfer systems streamline the manufacturing process, highlighting Bajaj Auto’s dedication to efficiency and innovation.

Initially, the facility will focus on the production of the popular Dominar models, with plans to incorporate the Pulsar models as they become available. The phased expansion will see the plant's capacity increase to up to 50,000 units per year.

Construction of the facility began in June 2023, with Bajaj Auto achieving production-readiness in just one year. The initial phase prioritized the sourcing, assembly, and testing of Dominar models. Bajaj do Brasil, the company’s Brazilian subsidiary, has effectively integrated local suppliers, sourcing key motorcycle parts and components from within Manaus.

The Manaus plant has already earned ISO certification for its rigorous production processes, underscoring Bajaj Auto's commitment to quality and compliance with international standards.

As Bajaj Auto continues to strengthen its global presence, the Manaus facility stands as a beacon of its strategic vision and operational prowess. This expansion not only solidifies the company’s position in Latin America but also reinforces its reputation as a global leader in the automotive industry.
