First Look at The Boys Season 4, Episode 5: Homelander's Revenge Unleashed

Prime Video's highly acclaimed series, The Boys, just dropped an exciting first look at the upcoming fifth episode of its fourth season. The official Boys X account unveiled a teaser trailer for Episode 5, marking the beginning of the second half of Season 4. This latest installment follows heavy anticipation fueled by showrunner Eric Kripke's praise, specifically highlighting Antony Starr's portrayal of Homelander as his finest performance yet.

The Boys Season 4, Episode 5 premiered to universal acclaim, with critics and fans alike hailing it as the best episode in the series to date. This episode delves into Homelander's (not John) dark past, returning to the place where he was raised and tortured. Now, he is back to exact brutal revenge on those responsible for his monstrous transformation.

The newly released teaser has generated considerable excitement among fans. It mentions the virus from Gen V and features characters Sam (Asa Germann) and Cate (Maddie Philips) from the spin-off series, shown standing with The Seven in Vought Tower. The teaser also provides a first glimpse of sheep injected with Compound V or Temporary V, exhibiting terrifying bloodlust and sharp, tooth-filled mouths. Additionally, the trailer includes a humorous jab at the MCU, with The Deep (Chace Crawford) promoting Phases 7-19 of the Vought Cinematic Universe (VCU) at the V52 Expo.

Since its premiere in 2019, The Boys has been a beloved property for Prime Video. While Season 4 has garnered critical acclaim, it has proven divisive among general audiences. The show boasts a stunning 95% approval rating from critics but holds a "rotten" 51% score from general audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. This disparity is largely attributed to accusations of the show being "too political," despite its political undertones being evident since Season 1. In response to these criticisms, The Boys released a video clapping back at review bombers, showcasing its bold approach and commitment to pushing boundaries.

The first four episodes of The Boys Season 4 are currently available for streaming, with Episode 5 set to premiere this Thursday. Fans can check out the new teaser and continue to watch The Boys exclusively on Prime Video.
