June 29, 2024 – In line with recent industry trends set by Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced an increase in tariffs for both prepaid and postpaid plans. The new pricing will take effect from July 4, while the benefits offered with these plans will remain unchanged.
Vodafone Idea’s cheapest plan, which currently costs Rs 179 and offers 28 days of validity with 2GB of mobile data, will see a price hike to Rs 199. Another popular plan, currently priced at Rs 479 and offering 56 days of validity with 1.5GB of data per day, will now cost Rs 579 from July 4 onwards. The financially strained telecom operator has also raised the price of its annual plan by Rs 500.
Despite the price hikes, Vodafone Idea continues to offer the unlimited night data perk, which provides unlimited mobile data usage between 12 AM and 6 AM. This benefit applies to all postpaid plans and prepaid daily data plans priced at Rs 299 or higher.
The tariff hike is part of Vodafone Idea’s strategy to improve its financial health amidst a competitive telecom market and significant debt burdens. The company is striving to enhance its revenue streams while maintaining customer satisfaction through unchanged benefits and attractive offers like the unlimited night data.
As the new tariffs come into effect, customers will need to reassess their mobile plan choices to best suit their needs and budgets. The telecom sector will closely watch the impact of these changes on Vodafone Idea’s subscriber base and overall market dynamics.
